Blood Hollow by William Kent Krueger

Book 4 in the Cork O'Connor series. I didn't have a post for this but I know I've read it.

Boundary Waters by William Kent Krueger

A Cork O'Connor mystery/adventure story. In this one, O'Connor searches in the wilderness near the Canadian border (Lake Superior) for a girl named Shiloh who, it turns out, is being hunted by some bad men. It's a bit formulaic but well done nonetheless. This is a good series.

The Enemy at the Gate by Andrew Wheatcroft

Excellent history of the great Siege of Vienna in 1683, when the Habsburgs, supported by other European forces, defeated the last great attempt by the Turks to overrun Europe.

Mind, Language and Society by John Searle

Written in 1998,  Searle develops an analysis of social structure in terms of his philosophy of mind and language. Searle is always an interesting read even if I usually have problems with what he writes.

The Law of Innocence by Michael Connelly

I got this for a quarter at a library book sale. The latest in the Mickey Haller "Lincoln Lawyer" series, it's an excellent courtroom mystery.

Contagious Faith by Peter Lawler

Discusses the surprising and troubling response of the Church in the face of the covid pandemic, when the Church shut down the sacraments. Lawler discusses more faithful alternatives to the pandemic than the one the Church pursued.

Diversity: The Invention of a Concept by Peter Wood

"Diversity" has become a dominant concept in our culture but few people know its history or its origin. Wood traces the evolution of the concept of "diversity" and how it came to be such a powerful factor in our social life.

City of Bones by Michael Connelly

#8 in the Harry Bosch series and a solid entry. Connelly is a consistent writer and doesn't produce many turkeys. This one has Bosch trying to solve the decades old murder of a 12 year old boy after his bones are discovered by a wandering dog. Bosch also gets involved with a female police officer. The relationship, as with all things Bosch, doesn't follow a smooth course.

The Bangtail Ghost by Keith McCafferty

The latest in the Sean Stranahan mystery series. This is a strong series and Bangtail Ghost is a solid entry. The mystery concerns a man-eating mountain lion.

Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie

Haven't been keeping up with this log. This is a re-read of a book I read many years ago. Solid Christie.

Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

A Book of the Month pick. It's a haunted house story, not very good in my opinion.
